[O06-P18] Spectroscopic observation of meteor showers using diffraction gratings

Keywords:spectroscopic observation, meteor

The purpose of this study is to identify the elements (meteoric material and Earth's atmosphere) related to meteoric emission through ground-based spectroscopic observations. A diffraction grating will be attached to the camera to take images, and the captured meteor images will be analyzed using an elemental tube.
Observations have been made since 2016, and a total of 64,000 images were taken and 65 spectral images were obtained. In particular, the 2017 Gemini group was able to take 28 images, showing a trend of less Nal than Mgl.
Since this trend was not seen in other groups, it is possible that there is a large time lapse from when the meteoric material in the Gemini group was produced.
We will continue to take photographs of the Geminids in order to reveal the trends of the constituent elements in the other groups.
