[EV04-08] Dissolved organic matter in the deep ocean
Dissolved organic matter (DOM) in the deep ocean, constitutes one of the important non-living organic matter pools on the Earth’s surface, is biologically recalcitrant and likely stable over millennia. However, the actual environmental dynamics (source, fate, and mechanisms of recalcitrance) of DOM in the ocean have not been well documented. This lecture will present recent findings on recalcitrant DOM in the deep ocean.
