[EV04-10] Synchrotron X-ray studies on the structure and properties of magmas under pressure

Yoshio Kono1 (1. Kwansei Gakuin University)

Magma are essentially high-pressure objects that are formed at depth in the Earth. Therefore, knowledge of the structure and physical properties of magmas under pressure is essential to understand the behaviors of the magmas in the Earth's interior. In this talk, I will introduce recent developments in high-pressure experiments about melts and glasses by utilizing synchrotron X-ray techniques, and the studies of the structure and physical properties of magmas under pressure.
