Disaster prevention education in school education is becoming extremely important as disasters become more severe and localized due to global warming. However, there are fewer opportunities for life-saving disaster prevention education than in top level high schools. It is necessary for disaster prevention education about the minimum knowledge of earth science education. It is difficult to choose high school earth science as top leverl high schools. Disaster prevention education in university has no choice but to start from earth science education at the junior high school level.
Few students choose a university after checking the disaster prevention safety of the university they are going to attend. For example, they check hazard maps and safety information such as whether the university is located near nuclear power plants.
This presentation will introduce these practices and serve as an opportunity to reconsider the nature of earth science education in Univerisity.
