CTBT PS22 Matsushiro Primary Seismic Station (PS22) is an array seismic observation station that is deployed at Nagano City, Ueda City, and Sakaki Town, Nagano Prefecture. It consists of a total of 15 seismic observation sites installed on the circumference and near the center of the circle with a diameter of approximately 5 km and 10 km, and a central recording facility (CRF) installed to collect and send these data online 24 hours a day. This system began operation in December 2004. To reduce noise near the surface, most sensors are installed 29 to 45 meters underground in boreholes. Japan Weather Association (JWA) has been in charge of operation and maintenance of PS22 since its start. In FY2023, in addition to usual operational and maintenance work, we also updated workstations for data collecting and sending, replaced UPSs, and replaced sensors at some observation sites. In this presentation, we will introduce an overview of PS22 and the operation and maintenance work carried out in 2023.
