JGASU is composed of eight academic associations that support Geopark activities. JGASU is responsible for organizing academic study sessions to support Geopark activities. less than a month after the 2024 Noto Peninsula Earthquake (M7.6), JGASU held the "2024 Noto Peninsula Earthquake Emergency Online Study Session". Researchers from related academic societies of earthquakes, active faults, geology, applied geology, geomorphology, and geography explained what was known and what was not known at that time to Geopark personnel, and nearly 300 people from 39 Geoparks participated in the event. Based on an analysis of the participants' questionnaires and other data, the role of science in the event of future disasters will be discussed.
