Kono Yasui (1880-1958)was the first women who got Doctorl Degree of Science from University of Tokyo in 1927. Marie Stopes (1880-1958), the paleobotanist came to Japan in 1907 to study the mineralisd plant fossils. She made the great influences to the scientific world in Japan, including Yasui's first receipt of doctoral degree.
