[O07-P01] Introduction to demonstration the Recipe collection of the Kitchen Earth Science
★Invited Papers
Keywords:Kitchen Earth Science, Experiments
We believe that experiments that can be performed with simple devices but whose behavior is not straightforward can be used to train researchers' brains and attract children and young people to science. This does not mean experiments that are easy to understand or experiments to “rediscover"" physical constants, such as so-called demonstration experiments, but rather experiments that deal with complex and profound phenomena whose behavior is not straightforward at first glance and whose interpretation is puzzling. However, such experiments are not easy to come up with.
Therefore, with the support of the Earthquake Research Institute of the University of Tokyo in 2017 and 2018, and the Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research in 2018-2019, we have conducted study groups and activities in which we all think of, present, and discuss experimental topics. As one form of result, participants of the study groups brought manuscripts to create a collection of experimental recipes, which was published on the website in 2019 (http://kitchenearth.sblo.jp/article/186047729.html).
In this poster, we will present the contents of this collection of recipes and demonstrate some of the experiments and others from the collection of recipes. We hope that participants will play with the complexity of the experiments and enjoy them.
