[O08-P22] Asteroid approach probability determined by orbit calculation

Keywords:asteroid impact, orbit calculation

In recent years, NASA has successfully conducted DART. DART" is a plan to change the orbit of an asteroid by impacting it with a spacecraft in preparation for the risk of an asteroid impact with the earth. We started this research because we wanted to consider asteroid impact avoidance using simulation. First, we simulated objects in the solar system. We created a program to numerically solve the equations of motion of objects under the gravitational attraction of the planets in the solar system and to obtain the orbits of the objects. Next, the orbits of meteorites were created. Based on observatory data and simulations, we developed a method for obtaining the orbits of asteroids that might impact the earth. After obtaining the orbits of meteorites, we will consider how to avoid collisions with asteroids.
