[O08-P38] Study of Solar Sunspot Depth based on the Wilson Effect II

*Yuka Ohkubo1, Momoe Ogisu1 (1.Ichinomiya Highschool)

Keywords:Wilson effect, sunspot depth

Based on the Wilson effect of sunspots, we hypothesized that there is a positive correlation between sunspot size and sunspot depth. We then considered sunspot size and sunspot depth determined by the Wilson effect (sunspot depth is determined based on the visible light sphere of the sun). As a result, we obtained a weak positive correlation between sunspot size and sunspot depth. We also examined the relationship between magnetism and sunspot depth, and found that the greater the sunspot depth, the stronger the magnetism. Further verification of this relationship is necessary because the magnetism of the images from the solar observing satellite SDO used for magnetic measurements is line-of-sight data and the number of data used for magnetic measurements is small.
