In August 2023, I participated in the 22nd Children’s Summer School on Seismology, Volcanology, and Geology in Hiratsuka . In relation to what I learned at the summer school, I discussed the relationship between the Noto Peninsula earthquake that occurred on January 1, 2024, and the Nankai Trough earthquake, which has been suggested to occur in recent years. In addition, we consider disaster prevention education on seismic activity and its damage in Japan more than 100 years after the Kanto earthquake.
