The purpose of the Earth and Planetary Spheres Subcommittee, established under the Science Council of Japan's Committee on Earth and Planetary Science, is to discuss new earth and planetary science in response to academic trends from a bird's-eye viewpoint, including cross-disciplinary perspectives, and to examine projects that earth and planetary scientists should collaborate on, ways to advance science, and large-scale research in earth and planetary science.
