[M-ZZ42] Frontiers in geochemistry: new challenges and future prospects

Fri. May 30, 2025 1:45 PM - 3:15 PM 103 (International Conference Hall, Makuhari Messe)

convener:Hajime Obata(Marine inorganic chemistry division, Atmosphere and Ocean Research Institute, University of Tokyo), Makiko K. Haba(Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences, Tokyo Institute of Technology), Hirochika Sumino(Research Center for Advanced Science and Technology, The University of Tokyo), Mayuri Inoue(Department of Earth Sciences, Okayama University), Chairperson:Hajime Obata(Marine inorganic chemistry division, Atmosphere and Ocean Research Institute, University of Tokyo), Makiko K. Haba(Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences, Tokyo Institute of Technology), Hirochika Sumino(Research Center for Advanced Science and Technology, The University of Tokyo), Mayuri Inoue(Department of Earth Sciences, Okayama University)

In modern geoscience, new analytical methods and perspectives from chemistry are the crucial driving forces for innovative research. The primary aim of this session is to seek new breakthroughs in geoscience by accumulating the knowledge from the speakers who are skilled in advanced chemical methods.
In geochemistry and cosmochemistry, the migration of elements among various phases, variations in isotopic composition and isotope fractionation, and the elucidation of chemical species and chemical elemental processes are being investigated by using state-of-the-art analytical methods. In 2025, this session, 'Frontiers of geochemistry: new challenges and future prospects' organised by the Geochemical Society Japan, will invite speakers who are challenging the frontier sciences at interdisciplinary areas. We would also like to promote cooperation among many participants from various research fields.
