Geoscience treats the whole Earth from its origination to the present status, and thus there are automatically no man-made boundaries among research fields. However, we have felt many barriers or boundaries between languages and cultures when we face to teaching and fostering the next generation internationally, academic presentation/communication in conferences and publications. As a long-time promoter of diversity and inclusivity such as a Head of diversity center and/or vice-president of university, past vice-president of JpGU and a chair of diversity committee of the Geological Society of Japan, in this talk, I will introduce some examples of initiatives of international collaboration and cooperation for scientific promotion, development, and fostering the next generation based on my experiences. For example, AI-based multilingual automated translation was introduced in Diversity symposium organized by JpGU Diversity committee at 2024 March. I would like to share the detail information of some initiatives on my experiences with you and discuss more effective approaches for crossing the boundaries or beyond the barriers.
