Around 15,000 people will have completed a doctorate in Japan every year. National Institute of Science and Technology Policy announced the 1st report of "Japan Doctoral Human Resource Profiling"-FY2012 doctoral graduates cohort- in 2015. The proportion is about 60% to remain in academia among the graduates, more than 70% among them is in a fixed-term post of science field. Even life events are delayed due to the job insecurity.
