[1B14] Ring-opening metathesis polymerization of cyclic olefins by (arylimido)vanadium(V)-alkylidene catalysts

In this lecture, we wish to introduce our explroed results concerning ring-opening metathesis polymerization (ROMP) of substituted norbornenes and the other (low strained) cyclic olefins. It was revealed that V(CHSiMe₃)(N-2,6-Cl₂C₆H₃)(OC₆Cl₅)(PMe₃)₂ enables to proceed ROMP of various norbornene derivatives with moderate activity and cis specific ROMP of (low strained) cycloheptene has been demostrated by V(CHSiMe₃)(N-2,6-Cl₂C₆H₃)[OC(CF₃)₃](PMe₃)₂.
