[1C01] Development of TiO2 supported immiscible RhCu bimetallic alloy catalyst for efficient hydrogen production from ammonia borane
Alloying of metal is one of the useful pathway to improve the performance of metal loaded heterogeneous catalysts. However, it is thermodynamically difficult to form alloy depending on the metal species which are immiscible in bulk state. Thus, characteristic elucidation of such immiscible alloy is desired. Herein, we found that Rh and Cu, one of immiscible metal combinations, form solid solution alloy promoted by hydrogen spillover on a TiO2. Moreover, TiO2-supported RhCu alloy catalyst (RhCu/TiO2) showed 2.4 times higher activity than monometallic Rh/TiO2 in the hydrogen production via the hydrogen production from ammonia borane.
