[1E02] CO2-to-Methanol Hydrogenation Catalyst by Focusing on Coordination Structure of Cu species
We studied the Cu nanoparticle formation by a simple deposition-reduction technique using Cu-doped MgAl2O4 (Mg1-xCuxAl2O4). Mg1-xCuxAl2O4 possessed the following three types of Cu2+ species: short O-Cu octahedral coordination [CuO6]s, elongated O-Cu octahedral coordination [CuO6]el, and tetrahedral coordination [CuO4]t. By H2-reduction of Mg1-xCuxAl2O4 containing mainly [CuO6]s, highly-dispersed Cu nanoparticles (< 2 nm) was selectively deposited on the MgAl2O4-based support, resulting in the relatively good catalytic performance on CO2-to-methanol hydrogenation.
