[1O5-GS-4-02] LOD Surfer: A federated search system for LOD based on class-class relationships

We have been developing a federated search system called LOD Surfer to obtain information in life science domain from Linked Open Data (LOD) based on class-class relationships. First, we considered the functions required for LOD Surfer, and prototyped those functions as a web API called LOD Surfer API. Furthermore, to clarify problems in practical use, we tried to use the API as an annotation tool for a multiple protein sequence alignment viewer. Then, we developed LOD Surfer API ver.2, by implementing required functions based on the trial of practical use, additionally to LOD Surfer API. In this presentation, we introduce LOD Surfer using LOD Surfer API ver.2. In addition, we discuss the technology required for LOD Surfer to enable integrated use of data distributed on the web and future prospects.
