[4H3-GS-4-02] Asymmetric Ontology Integration Based on Upper Ontology
Keywords:Ontology, Knowledge Engineering
With the expanding number of ontologies developed in various domains and scales, the integration of domain ontologies and large-scale general ontologies are utilized in knowledge-based systems to complement domain knowledge with general knowledge. Based on an analysis of the gaps in the integration of this sort, we present an automated asymmetric ontology integration method that makes use of the upper ontology to deal with the problems arising from the gaps. Sharing a common upper ontology between source ontologies is simplified by the preliminary extension of the existing large-scale general ontology with some standard upper ontologies.
