In this study, we analyzed the relationship between walks and wins using Japanese professional baseball game data from one particular regular season. The results suggested that the more walks a team has, the more games it wins. Furthermore, in the high-walk group, which drew many walks from the opponent, walks occurred more frequently in the middle to late innings compared to the low-walk group. However, it is also expected that the increase in the number of walks resulted from batters taking pitches more frequently to improve their hitting ability. To win a game, not only the number of walks but also other factors are involved. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze the value of walks considering these factors in future studies.
