[3Xin2-42] Prototype of Research Institution Map Based on Researcher Affiliation in KAKEN Data
Keywords:Academic information, bibliometrics, computational social science
Research institutions play a crucial role in knowledge creation and human resource development. In recent years, researcher mobility has increased, and there is a growing need for tools to promote collaboration and exchange of human resources among research institutions. This study aims to develop a prototype of a research institution map based on researcher affiliation information in Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research (KAKEN) data. We collected KAKEN data and analyzed the researcher affiliation information. We then constructed a network of research institutions based on the co-occurrence of researchers in KAKEN projects. The results showed that the network of research institutions was highly centralized, with a few major universities playing a central role. We also found that the network was divided into several clusters based on geographical location.
