[4Xin2-87] Implementing AI-based software in mouse phenotyping assays
Keywords:Application of AI, Mouse Phenotyping
In life sciences, high-quality experimental materials, commonly referred to as “bioresources”, are essential for obtaining reproducible data. The RIKEN BioResource Research Center, RIKEN BRC, is involved in collecting and distributing various bioresources, including genetically modified mice. Furthermore, we have developed a comprehensive phenotypic analysis platform for mice to enhance the value of mouse resources via incorporating their phenotypic information. In mouse phenotyping analyses, we use commercially available software bundled with experimental devices for phenotypic analyses. These commercial software solutions have facilitated high-throughput analysis through graphical user interface-based interfaces; however, they have limitations related to functional generalizability, scalability, and update costs. Conversely, within the research community, open-source software based on AI technologies, such as machine learning, have become available to researchers. In this conference, we will present our implementation of an open-source software for mouse phenotypic analyses to overcome the limitations of associated with using commercial software.
