Zener diodes are widely used as voltage references on the basis of their constant voltage characteristics near the break down voltage. Above all, standard voltage generators, in which selected Zener devices are maintained in a controled temperature, are utilized as stable secondary standards for DC voltage.We have developled a standard voltage generator which is easy to use on site by the minitualization of Zener module etc. As a result of the measurements using a Josephson voltage standard system, we obtained the drift characteristics within 2 ppm per year even with the much reduced size.
