Keywords:RFe2O4

We will report the physical properties of rare-earth ferrite RFe2O4 which has the ordering of Fe2+ and Fe3+ at room temperature. The ordering is considered to emerge from the competing interactions between spin, charge and orbital of iron d-electron on triangular lattice. As the ordering is robust till 500K, it is considered that weak stimulation can easily disarrange the charge ordering. We report out trial to utilize this `sensitive ordered electrons` to optical devices.
