[13p-2T-4] Analysis of Heat Loss from Thermocouple in Absolute Seebeck Coefficient Measurements
Keywords:Seebeck coefficient,Thomson coefficient,heat loss analysis
The Seebeck coefficient of single materials can be determined using Thomson effect. Thomson coefficients can be obtained by measuring temperature change of the sample, unlike a thermocouple technique. In this study, we have derived a new correction factor of the Thomson coefficient caused by heat loss from the thermocouple. Furthermore, we have shown that our AC-DC method can determine Thomson coefficients without the correction factor.
