Donor/acceptor interface has a dominant effect on power conversion efficiency of organic photovoltaics because charge separation and recombination occurs there. However, the relationship between interfacial structure and carrier behavior is not systematically understood. We fabricated the devices with controlled interfacial energetic structures by combining contact film transfer method and surface segregated monolayer and investigated the effect of interfacial energetics on carrier dynamics with impedance spectroscopy. As the result, the effects on recombination dynamics and carrier distribution were elucidated and we found energetic cascade structure is important for enhancement of efficiency.
