[14a-2D-5] Tm:YAG pulsed laser pumped Cr:ZnSe amplifier

A tunable Cr:ZnSe laser in the 2 to 3 µm region is useful for environmental remote sensing and a pump light source to generate mid-IR waves of wavelength longer than 5 µm in optical parametric oscillation (OPO). Now, we develop a Cr:ZnSe amplifier system for applying to a pump source for a high energy mid-IR OPO system. We report on important parameters for developing Cr:ZnSe amplifier system, such as optical damage threshold and wavelength dependence of energy conversion efficiency.
