Keywords:Hot carrier,Quantum dot superlattices

We have studied the hot-carrier cooling process in InAs/GaAs quantum dot superlattices (QDSLs) by means of the time-resolved photoluminescence spectroscopy. It was found that the hot-carrier energy dissipation rate in the QDSLs is more than one order of magnitude smaller than that in the multiple quantum wells. This result indicates a long intraband relaxation time in the QDSLs induced by the one-dimensional density of states.
