Our research group develops visualization techniques of electron density distribution in materials at SPring-8 by analyzing high-energy synchrotron radiation X-ray diffraction data, and conducts materials science of dielectrics using the method for structural studies. In this symposium, recent topics on relationship between valence electron density distributions in ABO₃ perovskite-type ferroelectrics and their structural phase transitions are discussed.
