[14p-PA7-10] Monitoring of Crystal Growth Process by Terahertz Wave Time Domain Attenuated Total Internal Reflection Spectroscopy

In this study, we directly observed crystallization initial phenomenon.We monitored crystal growth process of acetaminophen in methanol solution by terahertz wave time domain attenuated total internal reflection (ATR) spectroscopy.Acetaminophen powder was dissolved in methanol solvent, and concentration was adjusted to the 8 ℃ saturated solution.The sample was poured into a liquid cell which was set on a silicon prism.We measured reflection spectra of the sample at every 30 minutes during the crystal growth by the evaporation method.The amplitude of the THz wave increased with time.
