△ [15p-2A-11] Photon pressure-induced local protein concentration elevation for acceleration of crystallization
Keywords:laser trapping,protein,light-induced crystallization
We have reported that laser trapping of a lysozyme solution at an air-solution interface induces assembly formation, many micrometer-sized dense liquid droplet formation due to a liquid-liquid phase separation and enhanced crystallization. Raman microspectroscopy observation under 1064-nm laser irradiation suggests that the supersaturation degree of the solution ascends rapidly due to the local concentration elevation by trapping lysozyme clusters. We will discuss the correlation between laser-induced crystallization and local/transient concentration elevation of lysozyme which will be induced by exerted photon pressure.
