[16a-2A-5] Investigation of Low-loss Zero Index Material

We investigated Low-loss Zero Index Material (LLZIM) which could be applicable for on-chip phase-matching-free nonlinear optics. Originally our demonstrated on-chip ZIMs have a large loss due to the metal absorption or the radiation loss. This could be solved by applying single mirror on the top of Si pillars in SU-8 polymer since we can obtain higher confinement based on phase distractive interference by tuning the thickness of the SU-8 polymer.
