The birth of high-speed AFM enabled us to directly observe the structural dynamics of protein molecules at work in physiological buffer solutions, by which the functional mechanisms of protein molecules can be analyzed more directly. In this presentation, we will introduce the development of high-speed AFM for biological sciences so far and discuss further challenges.
