[13p-A32-7] Self-assembled metal nanoparticles and their device application
Keywords:Plasmonics, Self-assembly, Bioimaging
A collective excitation of localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) has been studied extensively on self-assembled 2D sheet composed of metallic nanoparticles. The particle sheets were fabricated by self-assembly at air-water interface and deposited on hydrophibic solid substrate by Langmuir-Schaefer method. Both the experimental and the FDTD simulation data revealed a unique optical property of the 2D sheet or their stratified 3D structures. We confirmed that the nanoparticle sheet provides highly confined and enhanced fluorescence images with high axial and lateral resolution under a regular epifluorescence microscope, which held even better quality compared with the total internal reflection fluorescence (TIRF) microscopy.
