[15a-B7-3] Numerical Analysis of a micro ECR plasma thruster using Magnetic Nozzle

Magnetic nozzle, which confines plasma and accelerates ions by magnetic fields is proposed as thrust system for position and attitude control of spacecrafts, however, its physical properties are not fully elucidated. We developed a micro ECR plasma thruster, which generates plasma by ECR discharge and accelerates ions by diverging magnetic fields. We conducted a particle simulation to the model, then we confirmed high density plasma generation by ECR effect and ion acceleration.
