[15p-A24-6] Solar Fuel Synthesis on Chalcopyrite Materials Based Photocathodes

Application of chalcogenides having chalcopyrite structure such as Cu(In,Ga)Se2 (CIGS) for photoelectrochemical water splitting is studied. CIGS photocathode with surface modifications showed hydrogen evolution from water with half cell solar-to-hydrogen conversion efficiency of 8.4%. In the presentation, increased driving force of hydrogen evolution reactions by alloying with ZnSe and direct synthesis of a chemical hydride as a hydrogen carrier will be discussed in addition to above.
