Keywords:quantum dot solar cells, intermediate band solar cells, two-step photon absorption

We have investigated 2D quantum efficiency spectrum maps of two-step photon absorption processes in multi-stacked InAs/AlGaAs quantum dot solar cells by utilizing Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) photocurrent spectroscopy under monochromatic bias light illumination. The valence band to intermediate band transitions and the intermediate band to conduction band transitions were spectrally resolved simultaneously. The quantitative analysis on the 2D spectra can be utilized to optimize the device architecture with the quantum efficiency spectra which have better spectral matching to the sunlight spectrum.
