We have investigated the behavior of supported lipid bilayer (SLB) treated by dielectric barrier discharge (DBD). So far, we revealed that the pores of nm~μm size is appeared on SLB treated by DBD. This time, we contained a cholesterol into a SLB in order to constitute a SLB in the near components by biological membranes, and we observed the structure of the SLB after DBD treatment. As a result, when containing cholesterol, electric energy of DBD for pore formation on the SLB was increased than non-containing cholesterol SLB. It was suggesting that cholesterol have an effect that suppresses the structural changes in the SLB by DBD.
