In this work, we report on the photovoltaic features of Schottky-type solar cell with transition metal dichalcogenides (TMD) aiming for the fabrication of high performance transparent and flexible solar cell. The power generation properties of solar cell with mono-, bi- and tri-layered tungsten diselenide (WSe2) and tungsten disulfide (WS2) as TMD materials were investigated. It is found that the power generation properties are improved with an increase in the layer number of TMD. Furthermore, we revealed that the most suitable pair of electrodes depends on the kind of TMD, which can be explained by the difference of band structures of each TMD.
