△ [16a-B12-9] Electron Transfer Process for Plasmon-Induced Chemical Reactions
Keywords:Localized Surface Plasmon Resonance, Plasmonic Electron Transfer Process, Semiconductor
Spatially selective deposition of conductive polymer was performed at the Au nanostructures supported on TiO2 electrodes. The reactions were induced by the excitation of localized surface plasmon resonance under near-infrared light illumination to the plasmon-active Au nanostructures. The morphological characters of the deposited polypyrrole prove the generation of the localized reaction-active sites in the plasmon-induced chemical reaction system. The unique polymer-growing process observed in the present system provides information on the mechanism of plasmon-induced oxidation reaction and the electrochemical potential values for generated holes.
