Phthalocyanine derivatives (PCDs) are one of the attractive dyes, which can be applicable to pigments for color filters, inks and p-type organic semiconductors for photovoltaics, because of their high chemical and thermal stabilities and strong absorption. Since, it is difficult to dissolve PCDs in solvents due to their high crystallinity, PCDs are hard to applied to solution processing. The colloidal dispersion of PCDs nanocrystals (NCs) will realize solution processing of PCDs for above-mentioned practical applications. We have reported that a direct synthetic process of PC NCs, in which PC NCs were synthesized in nanomicelles from their precursors with UV light irradiation. By using this method, PC NCs having different coordinated metals were successfully prepared. In the present research, we directly synthesized PCD NCs with different conjugated π-system by using different types of precursors.
