[16p-B3-7] Analysis of adsorption structures and vibrational modes of CO on Si(001)

In the present work, we investigated adsorption processes of CO on Si(001) using transmission FT-IR. We found three components (Peak A, Peak B and Peak C) corresponding to the chemisorbed CO. Peak A and Peak B are assigned to the symmetric stretching modes and anti-symmetric stretching modes of adjacent CO pair, respectively. We consider that Peak C may be associated with a defect structure such as the C defect.
