GaInAsP photonic crystal nanolaser is a tiny semiconductor laser, which can fabricated by simple HI etching process and operated by room-temperature photopumping. It can be used as a ultra-sensitive bio-sensor, since its wavelength and emission intensity are greatly influenced by the environmental index and charges. This paper reports the detection of prostate-specific antigen from a concentration of 1 fM even when the analyte includes 10-billion higher concentration of BSA as a contaminant. It also demonstrates various bio-sensings such as a bio-marker for Alzheimer’s disease, endotoxin, DNA and living cells.
