In 3-D display, a spherical hologram is suitable to realize full viewing zone and motion parallax in both horizontal and vertical directions. However, the huge calculation time is problematic. Here, we propose a fast calculation method for diffraction from an object defined in the Cartesian coordinate to a spherical surface by spherical harmonics transformation of the convolution integral.
