[16p-P1-5] Heterodyne Terahertz Electro-Optic Sampling Using DAST Crystal

In the heterodyne electro-optic (EO) sampling for detecting terahertz waves based on the non-collinear Cherenkov phase-matching, nonlinear coefficient of the EO crystals give a decisive influence on detection sensitivity. In this study, we attempt to realize the heterodyne EO detection using a DAST crystal that has a large EO coefficient comparing to LiNbO3, which have been using up to now. As a result, it was obtained that the signal-to-noise ratio of approximately five orders in power. The DAST crystal was found to be a promising material compared with the similar experimental results were performed using a ZnTe.
