Plasmonic local-field enhancement of ultrashort optical pulses is promising for driving strong-field light-matter interactions. As an effective platform for the extreme nonlinear optical effects, we investigate the field-enhancement properties of metal nanostructures in the mid-infrared range, and achieved ultrafast strong-field photoemission driven by the enhanced femtosecond fields.
