[19p-H137-12] Characteristics of Soft X-rays in “Water Window” from solid Ar & N₂ laser plasma

We report characteristics of soft X-ray spectra emitted from solid Ar and N₂ laser plasma. Solid Ar plasma spectrum showed broad emission over “water window” region from 2.3nm to 4.4nm with a peak of 3.0nm and solid N₂ plasma showed a narrow strong peak at 2.5nm. Comparing the spectra, we found that the “water window” X-ray intensity from the N₂ plasma was one order less than that from the Ar plasma.
