In recent years, performances of the organic thin-film solar cells have been improved by utilizing low band-gap polymers with controlling molecular orientations in the photoactive layers of the organic photovoltaic cells. Such orientations have been modulated by introducing two different alkyl groups in the side chains of thiophen-thiazolothiazole copolymers. However, mechanism of the efficient charge generation is not understood. To clarify the mechanism of the photo-carrier generations, we have employed the time-resolved EPR method in the organic blend thin-films composed of thiophen-thiazolothiazole copolymers and PC60BM to observe the interfacial charge-separated states.
