CZTS-based solar cells have emerged as one of the most promising candidates for high-efficiency and earth abundant solar cells. However, the conversion efficiency recently fails to increase due to low open-circuit voltage (Voc) and fill factor (FF). In this study, surface element compositions of CZTSSe with various chemical treatments are investigated by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), and the surface oxide concentrations on CZTSSe are confirmed to be important to high conversion efficiency and shunt resistance.
